Guided by our noble motto of “Desh Bhakti – Jan Seva”, Balaghat police are duty-bound to ensure the safety and security of all the citizens of Balaghat, particularly the tribal population of the district. Being a Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) affected district, there are certain challenges unique to Balaghat. The District Police, along with the Central Armed Police Forces and Special Units deployed throughout the LWE-affected areas, continuously strive to provide a true sense of safety and security to the people of this area.
Regular and continuous outreach to society through Community Policing initiatives such as the Jan-Maitri have strengthened public-police cooperation in the hinterland – bridging the administration-public gap, thereby also ensuring good service-delivery of welfare and security-related schemes of both Union and State Governments.
“The ability of the police to perform their duties is dependent upon public approval of police actions.”
[Sir Robert Peel, one of the foremost pioneers of Modern Policing]
I’m confident that the active civil society of Balaghat, along with our professional police, would continue to work in unison for the betterment of the entire country.
